The Tanzania Institute of Quantity Surveyors (TIQS) was officially established on 28th April 1987 and operates under the revised Architects and Quantity Surveyors Act of 2000. It serves as the representative body for all professional and aspiring quantity surveyors registered and practicing in Tanzania.

TIQS is mandated to support, develop, and safeguard the integrity, status, and interests of the quantity surveying profession and its allied disciplines. The Institute is also committed to upholding high standards of professional ethics and codes of practice among its members, who play a vital role in delivering services across both public and private sectors nationwide.
