About Us
The Women Chapter of the Tanzania Institute of Quantity Surveyors (TIQS) is an integral arm of the Institute, established to address and manage gender-related matters across all aspects of the profession and institutional activities.
The Chapter is committed to promoting inclusivity and ensuring that gender perspectives are effectively integrated into the development and practice of quantity surveying in Tanzania.

Conducting a Women QS Conference
The chapter organized and hosted an online conference in honoring the World’s Science Day. The guest of honor was our very own TIQS
president, Hon. QS. Bernard Ndakidemi, who not only officiated the event but graced it superbly. Main speakers included Prof. Geraldine Kikwasi, Dr. Neema Opiyo and GQS. Masungwi Mpanduzi, while our chairlady Dr.Nyamagere Gladys facilitated the entire event. It was historic to host over 150 Tanzanian Women QS and over 17 other women QS from all over Africa. TIQS Women Chapter organized a stem outreach program. Women Quantity Surveyors Representative managed to Visit Jokate Mwegelo Secondary School
at Kisarawe Coast Region. The event brought together graduate Quantity Surveyors, Professional Quantity Surveyors and Academician from the field of
Quantity Surveyor for a day of informative sessions in career guidance, STEM subjects Motivation and Advocacy of Quantity Surveying Profession to Young
female Students of Jokate Mwegelo Secondary School.
During the 2025 Women’s Day commemoration, the Chapter hosted a panel discussion during the iftar & Lenten Supper-opening event designed to celebrate unity and foster knowledge exchange among members. The
